California HVAC Duct Sealing Requirements effective October 1, 2005

Energy Commission issues new duct sealing requirements for homeowners who replace or install central air conditioning or a furnace.

you're thinking of replacing or installing either central air conditioning or a
furnace, you need to know about the new duct sealing requirements effective
October 1, 2005. These new regulations may require a test and, if
necessary, sealing of existing heating ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC)
ductwork.The California Energy Commission has set up a website online with the information you will need on the 2005 HVAC Change-out.
